I approach my work with a sense of humility based on the view that whilst each of us responds to life's problems in our own unique way, at another level, we are all in this together.
Initially I worked as an assistant psychologist from 2004, before starting my clinical training in 2006, and obtaining my professional doctorate in clinical psychology from the University of East London in 2009.
Over the course of 17 years, I worked within the NHS, providing therapy for individuals, couples, families, and groups, in a range of different settings, from community mental health teams through to psychiatric intensive care units.
In 2012, I started my own private practice, gradually increasing my commitment over time, until this became my exclusive focus from 2022. Whilst developing and expanding my private work, I have continued to value and enact the ethical principles that underpin psychology provision within the NHS, whilst enjoying the flexibility to offer a more personalised and responsive service in the private sector.
I am registered as a Chartered Clinical Psychologist and Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society (BPS), as a Practitioner Psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), and as an Accredited Psychotherapist with the British Association for Behavioural & Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP).
Although I have contributed to books and research articles on mental health and therapy, and trained and supervised other therapists and psychologists, it is therapeutic work that I enjoy the most.
